Ranjith played several parts between 1999 and 2001, most of them antagonistic or supporting, however, he also acted as the lead in a few movies, including Kann Thirandhu Paaramma (2000) and Nesam Pudhusu (1999).
He took a risk in 2003 when he directed, produced, and starred in Bheeshmar; nevertheless, the movie’s low box office performance made him switch to supporting parts in Malayalam movies. He persisted in his career despite obstacles, making appearances in political comedies such as Padhavi Paduthum Paadu and Aadhikkam (2005).
Later, Ranjith achieved great success on Tamil television, where he played the parts of Pazhaniswami in Baakiyalakshmi (2023) and Duraisingam in the Star Vijay serial Senthoora Poove (2020–2022). Both roles were well-received and helped to advance Ranjith’s television career.
