ADK Wiki & Biography: Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam, better known as ADK or just Dinesh Kanagaratnam, was born in Sri Lanka on August 30th, 1981. He’s a lyricist and performer in the hip-hop/rhythm-and-blues genre who primarily uses the Tamil language. He usually collaborates with music directors in Tamil and Telugu films as a playback singer.
On Sunday, August 30, 1981, he entered the world at Badulla, Sri Lanka. After completing his education, Dinesh began working as an IT instructor in Sri Lanka. Following his love in music, Dinesh began doing part-time work with local musicians. After that, Dinesh began his music career with a string of self-released albums under his own name, including Cross Culture, Nagara Vaytai, Dhoom Dhaala, Uyir Poo, etc. Known for films like TN 07 AL 4777, Vettaikaaran, Odipolama, Lingaa, Race Gurram, Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo, S3, etc., Dinesh began his career in Tamil and Telugu in 2008.

Despite his Sri Lankan birthplace, ADK pursued his schooling in neighbouring Trichy, Tamil Nadu. After finishing his computer science degree in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India, he returned to Sri Lanka and worked as an IT instructor and professional designer. Working with local musicians was a side gig he took up to satisfy his growing passion for music. In 2004, a Sri Lankan musician named Bathiya gave him a chance, and he started recording rap tracks till Vijay Antony discovered him.
In 2022, Dinesh was a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 6, which was hosted by the late, great Kamal Haasan.
